We wrote our reactions to all the readings from this course. Our responses demonstrated our “thinking” about what we have
read and common themes among the articles. This was an opportunity for us to present our perspective on the themes (Name it) and share our experiences and struggles with the ideas (Reflect on it). At the end of each review, we identified one action that could be developed based on our understanding of the issue (Act on it). The core question we addressed in the second response was "How will we strengthen our leadership in the area of social justice based on these set of readings as well as other learnings from the course?"

case study paper
We were presented a case study that focused on issues of diversity. We then chose to focus on one individual within the case study and write an an analysis and reaction to what was presented.
closing the achievement gap-
connections to individual research areas
Since a primary goal of this doctoral program is to engage in research with a focus on the social justice goal of closing the achievement gap, we continued with the general course theme of “naming it,” in a paper that supported us to name, think critically and act on the issues of social justice related to our individual research area. We included connections to course readings, lectures, and group activities. In addition, this assignment asked us to consider how our growing knowledge about our topic of interest may directly and immediately impact our workplace.
